Yellow Jade

Yellow adornment
A pair of  jade bangles worn
Elegant it is.

Trinkets for the arm
 A sound of glasses clings
Smooth, shiny, and cold.

Full Moon at Christmas

Breaking dawn at Christmas,
watching through the sky,
Beautiful moon setting in full
 is good to look at...
As if nature calling me to take a shot.
Though throbbing pain inside my head keep on pushing,
There's a charm in the dark sky I cannot stop looking at.
Deep in this dark hour with the trees trying to hide it,
The wind suddenly blows as if to stop me from taking it.
The shadow  of the dark is creepy as it seems
The fright I feel about what I might see
Still, I cannot elude the enchantment it brings
To pursue saving the memory of what
might not be...
 for long...

Chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemums flow'r
Brighter yellow as it was
As days have passed by

***

A gift for someone
Special or regular days
Brightens someone's day.

***
Give someone you know
Wish them happiness and love,
Peace and good health.

You are sensitive,
A beauty so delicate,
Maiden well-cared of.

***
Your blooms are unique,
Unusual, yet so simple,
Lovely to look at...

***
Offering the White,
Lilac seems an endless love
Forgot what we were.

***
Have you seen this one?
Do you remember this flow'r?
You said I'm the one.

***
Decipher the words,
Scribbling because of sadness
Orchids we were once.

The Woman In The Mirror

©2007 Jan Brooks

The woman in the mirror
I always see a smiling face
No matter what life dishes out
She still has poise and grace.

So many troubles
Life has been all wrong
The woman in the mirror
Still sings a happy song.

The woman in the mirror
No one sees her grief
She learned to hide it well
Though she knows no relief.

Sometimes sadness overrules
And she wants to let go
And the journeys of life
Are often too much to know.

She finds the strength somehow
To carry the heavy load
Two steps further forward
Along the endless rocky road.

The woman in the mirror
Her beliefs have made her strong
Knowing there is happiness
That will someday, to her belong...

*A shared photo and a message that captured my senses. Reading this poem.. it  pulls on the inner emotions of the poet  for a woman. I have this feeling that the poet's subject is the woman herself. I may be wrong ..or he/she had been a witness to another woman's experience..somehow, the poem also reflects me...
