Echoes of 1898

Four centuries bound, a nation wept,

Under foreign rule, its dreams were kept.

From shores of pearl to mountain steep,

A people longed, their wounds ran deep.

Spain’s iron grip, cold chains confined,

Cities silenced, faith redefined.

Gold and gospel twined as one,

While voices dimmed beneath the sun.

Yet embers stirred, their fire untamed,

A whisper turned to roaring flame.

Bonifacio rose, with sword in hand,

His cry electrified the land.

Rizal with ink, his justice wove,

A martyr’s blood, the seeds he sowed.

Through exile’s pain and prison’s keep,

His words awoke the souls asleep.

The Katipuneros carved the way,

Their bolos sang, their hearts unchained.

From Cavite’s clash to Balintawak,

Their courage cracked the midnight black.

Then came the dawn—June twelve, the date,

The world stood still to watch fate take.

A flag was raised, the anthem soared,

A nation freed, its spirit roared.

But freedom’s cost was steep and wide,

New hands reached forth to shape its tide.

Yet through the trials, through the test,

The Filipino heart beats unoppressed.

So hear the echoes, proud and bold,

The tales of heroes, scarred yet gold.

For every drop of blood once paid,

A nation stands—unbent, unstayed.

Eternal Glow: Ode to a Mother's Light

In the heart of the home, a gentle light glows,
A beacon of love that forever grows.
She's the whisper of leaves on a summer's breeze,
The kiss of the sun through the canopy of trees.

With hands that weave comfort, soft as a sigh,
She stitches the moments as time trickles by.
Her laughter, a melody played in the air,
Fills the rooms with a music so rare.

In her eyes, you'll find the stars' gentle gleam,
A harbor of dreams, an endless stream.
She's the dance of the firefly in twilight's embrace,
The tender touch of morning's first grace.

A mother, a giver, a compass, a guide,
Through storms and through calm, she's always beside.
Her wisdom, a lighthouse when seas turn rough,
Her strength, an anchor when winds blow tough.

In the quiet of night, when the world's hushed and still,
Her presence is peace, her love is the thrill.
For the gift of a mother, so gentle, so bold,
Is a story of love that never grows old.

May this poem reflect the beauty and strength of Mothers everywhere. 🌻🌹

D e s i r e e

The name of the one desired,
A heart that of a sweet child.
A mind of a simple lass,
A dreamer of her own truss.

With her extravagant smile,
To welcome you from a mile
A refreshing scene to see,
Jolly companion to be.

Trials and sufferings abound,
Her faith had made it all bound.
All of it she would lose sight,
But never her friends all night.

~~~oOo~~~
The moment I lay my eyes on you,
the face of a sad angel,
Thinking out loud but never said anything.
"This girl looks like my daughter," so I thought...
I have noticed, have asked, and found...
yes, it's true...
The reason for those sad eyes...
yet, talking to you...
I could see...
I have seen the beauty of your heart,
the kindness of your soul...
'till it uncovers the refreshing smile,
and it never left my memory...
until we meet and see each other again.
From then on, you've been like a daughter to me.
The Dawn
..dawn in Boracay..
Peeking through the clouds
A morning-glory behind
Waiting to be seen.
~~~oOo~~~

Do not lose the hope
Each life has its own morning
Wait, the dawn's coming.

~~~oOo~~~
His blessings are new
Every morning forever
Jehovah Jireh!
~~~oOo~~~

Alone waiting for you
Seeing you was a great joy!
Gray with orange hues.
