Ghost in the Garden of Time

A sunflower bends toward the fading sun,
its golden face heavy with songs
that never left my throat.
The ghost of the musical voice
rustles through the petals,
a lawyer’s case folded into the wind,
both carried away by clouds
that never waited for me.

The moon hurries across the sky,
reminding me of time’s relentless chase.
I walk beneath its silver light,
my hands full of duty,
my arms cradling the future of my children.
Their laughter is the only music
I can still compose,
their dreams the only case
I can still plead.

Yet the ghost lingers... she hums in the shadows,
her song unfinished,
her faith buried with the one
who once believed in me.

But even in haunting,
she is proof I dared to want,
that I reached for the stars
before the night grew too long.
And though the world may never hear my song,
Or the court may not see my fight for family cause,
the sunflower still blooms,
the clouds still drift,
the moon still listens...
and somewhere in their silence,
I am still singing...
I am still fighting...

Wilderness of Romance

Caught in the wilderness of romance,
Two souls dancing on the snow
White Christmas still lingers
At the edge of a Forgotten Land...

I watch them... their closeness a flame
that warms the frozen air,
and I feel the hunger of a lantern
never lit for me.
One man, once admired,
still glimmers like a star
I cannot touch,
his brilliance reflected
in the way he crowns her with light.
The other... my own...
remains a silence,
a river that never reached my shore,
his gaze withheld,
his tenderness a promise
that dissolved into mist.

So I stand between two shadows:
the star I followed,
and the river I thirsted for.

Their laughter becomes a mirror,
showing not only their joy,
but the ache of my hands
still empty of devotion.
The snow writes its parables,
flakes falling like unwritten vows,
and beneath its veil
my heart carries the weight
of two men... one remembered,
one withheld... both teaching me
how absence can carve deeper
than presence ever could...

The Silence He Left

Black fedora under stage spotlight with golden sparkles, symbolizing tribute, memory, and loss in a free verse grief poem.

He’s out of my life,
and the words taste bitter,
like something I never wanted to say.

I keep asking myself
if I held back too much,
or gave more than I should have.

The truth is...
I don’t know where the balance was,
only that love slipped away,
and left me holding silence.

He was part of my youth,
woven into the rhythm of my days,
and now the absence feels heavier

He’s out of my life,
and I can’t pretend it doesn’t break me.

** This piece was born out of the song “She’s Out of My Life”.
Its mood has always stayed with me, carrying the ache of loss and the quiet questions that never find answers.
Back in my teenage years, his music was more than sound... it was presence, comfort, and a companion through growing pains.
Now, even as time moves forward, I still grieve.
I miss him, not just as an artist, but as a part of my youth that shaped who I became.
Writing this poem is my way of keeping him close, even in silence.

In the Silence of the Frame

We’ve never met... not in the way
the wind meets leaves, or hands find hands.
Yet through poetry and photographs,
I glimpse a world my heart understands.

A stranger bends to light and shadow,
 capturing silence in golden skies.
I write of woods, dusk, and solitude...
his art responds, though unaware of my eyes.

His lens leans close to the effect of lights:
from the sky to waters, and the structures beneath.
I linger in the quiet spaces,
where admiration hides in gentle delight.

He knows I love the sun’s descent,
how it spills secrets across the sky.
And when I see that amber stillness,
I wonder if it speaks to me too.

No declarations, no confessions...
just verses left like fallen leaves.
And in return, his photographs
echo something my heart believes.

So here I stay, behind the screen,
where art and nature intertwine.
In the silence of the frame, I dwell...
a stranger moved, yet quietly aligned.

Ngunit tila ba sila’y may balat-kaliskis.

---
English Version:

“Beneath the Flag’s Shadow”

Beneath the flag’s shadow, honor bleeds,
Justice begs in the pockets of fools.
The law like paper, crumpled and tossed,
While the powerful leap without cost.

Each project hides a secret fee,
The roads paved in gold, but not for you and me.
The poor walk through mud made of promises,
While the throne drinks deep in indulgences.

Names mentioned in the news like a curse,
Yet they wear scales, immune to worse.
Cases rot in rooms of forgetting,
Truth is sold to fear and betting.

But beyond the dark, a voice begins...
A mother’s cry, a farmer’s hymn,
The youth who cast away their chains,
And hope that thieves cannot contain.

One day, the flag will rise again,
Not in palaces, but in the hearts of men.
Corruption will kneel before the light,
And the nation will rise...
whole, upright.

Full Moon at Christmas

Breaking dawn at Christmas,
watching through the sky,
Beautiful moon setting in full
 i
good to look at...
As if nature calling me to take a shot.
Though throbbing pain inside my head keeps on pushing,
There's a charm in the dark sky I cannot stop looking at.
Deep in this dark hour, with the trees trying to hide it,
The wind suddenly blows as if to stop me from taking it.
The shadow  of the dark is creepy as it seems
The fright I feel about what I might see
Still, I cannot elude the enchantment it brings
To preserve the memory of what
might not be...
 for long...

My Star

I gaze through the lens,
I thought you were a star.
Your love touches my eyes, reaching me,
touching life, outlining your presence in me.
Your warmth never burns,
your hug glows inside me.
Your brightness is subtle, impressive,
a love that knows no distance.
You speak through my heart
without even opening your lips.
We consummated our longing
Every time the world darkens.
You are humble enough
to reach me beyond the expanse,
telling me there is something
 rather than nothing.
I then realized that you saw me before
Or is it I who saw you?
Every night, our future meets from a distant past.
I wonder if you are still there.

Mine ...

Dewdrops fall as the tears through my cheek rolls...

How can I set you free, when I know you still have me...

How can I make you see..how much you mean to me...

I am thee, thou are mine.

But we can see how hard for our minds...

how painful for our hearts...

knowing we couldn't be MINE...
